ID #1074

Solaris RPC issue: ERROR: Could not remote connect to RPC server ... RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Authentication error.

This issue can manifest itself if the RPC local_only property is set to true. You can check this with:
svcprop network/rpc/bind:default | grep local_only
If it is set to true, you must change it to false for remote RPC calls to work between cluster hosts, use the command:
svccfg -s svc:/network/rpc/bind setprop config/local_only = false
svcadm refresh network/rpc/bind:default
Once you’ve done that you’ll need to restart the RPC HA service:
ps -ef|grep rpchasvc
There should be one process called rpchasvc. If you kill it, the rsfpmon process will restart it again. Once that happens, rsyncha will start working without Authentication errors.
