Initializing cluster

The initialize menu is used to start configuring a NexentaStor cluster.

The cluster must be initialised before any volumes can be added to the cluster using this form:

The cluster name is used to identify this cluster instance. If desired it can be renamed to something like Accounts or Main-CIFS-Server. The name can only contain the characters A-Z a-z 0-9 . _ - spaces are not alowed in this field.

The description provides provides a way to augment the cluster name. The description can only contain the characters A-Z a-z 0-9 . _ - and spaces.

The first and second appliance drop down lists are made up of the appliance the browser is connected to and any other appliances ssh bound to it. If there are no ssh bound appliances then an error message will be displayed.

The network monitoring checkbox enabled monitoring of the network hardware physical link itself of any services using that link for its virtual IP address.

Finally clicking the serial heartbeat checkbox allows configuration of additional network heartbeats via a popup dialog box:
